From Montana to Jultorp Ranch

The idea of a Swedish Ranch was born in 1992 in the area of the Pryor Mountains in Montana. I was there to try cowboying for a couple of weeks, says Lollo Nilsson. Together with the real cowboys we were to move 1 200 animals up to the green highland plateau.

One evening, after 15 hours in the saddle, I took my sleeping bag and climbed up one of the hills surrounding the ranch, to spend the night there on my own. Every thing was quiet, and I could see miles around. I saw the sun set and the sun rise. It was magical, and my thoughts wandered between my boring office job and the free life on the ranch below.

A business idea

After I had convinced my dear wife Eva and my son Robert, and after tedious economical calculations, we all agreed. We sold our house and business, and changed our lives. In 1993 we bought Jultorp and moved in the spring of '94. Now, more than 12 years later the ranch has become synonymous with quality in the Swedish horse business, and there is nothing like it in the whole of Scandinavia. Even if this felt a little like just a dream in Montana, it has turned out very successfully.

Around 30 different newspapers and magazines have written about us, and we have been in many TV shows.

Facts about Jultorp Ranch

American horse-ranch in Sweden. Courses in western riding. Conferences and company kick-offs with horses in a Western setting.

Around 25 western horses, most of them Quarter Horses.
2 & 3 days intensive courses in Western riding.
Huge saloon, 450 square meters with room for more than 200 seated guests.
Small, cozy saloon for smaller groups.
Conferece room for up to 150 participants.
Own restaurant with dedicated chef.
Large indoor arena with seats.
29 rooms with 64 beds.

Jultorp Ranch is a living ranch. We work with the horses every day. Here the con-ference participants can try riding some of our welltrained western horses.
